Mary has a Master of Library and Information Science degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. 

For the past 18 years, she has worked as a school librarian in elementary, middle, and high school settings.  Her professional emphasis has been on working with classroom teachers to develop students’ literacy and research skills.  Her “students’ first” philosophy has made her library a place where students feel welcome and a place where they want to come to learn.  In addition, she is skilled at supporting all levels of student learning.  She has completed Level Two International Baccalaureate training for librarians to provide support for advanced students, and is equally adept at supporting other levels of learners as well.     

 

Robert has a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degree in journalism and communications. 

He has seven years current high school English teaching experience along with over 17 years teaching in college and industry. Robert is certified to teach English, social studies (history, psychology, geography, economics) and journalism for middle and high school.  He holds professional development certificates in Advanced Placement and Pre-Advanced Placement English and Geography.  He has completed a Level Two International Baccalaureate Certificate in Psychology.  His other accomplishments include working as a reporter and editor for professional newspapers.   He also has served as adviser for college newspapers and a yearbook.
