I am interested in teaching opportunities in Europe for kindergarten through third grade where my teaching, travel and technology experience and my Masters Degree in Language and Literacy will benefit the students, staff and parents in an International School environment.

My Philosophy

I believe that every child should have the opportunity to become a self-confident individual and my goal, as their teacher is to assist them in reaching that level.  I believe that learning is a lifelong adventure and it is important to keep our minds open to knowledge and our hearts open to love.

I believe in the freedom to wonder, try, ask, explore, imagine, build, create and never give up!  I believe in providing a warm, trusting environment in which students will feel comfortable working.  I believe in succeeding to the best of my ability while encouraging others to succeed to the best of their ability.  I believe that success is never giving up, trying our hardest, being our best and feeling proud of our effort.  I believe that each individual has special talents and that the talents of each of us help all of us.

I believe in my students, my classroom and myself.

PIONEER IN KINDERGARTEN LEVEL TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION

Last year I played an integral role in bringing a technology grant to the kindergarten level. Through a project I developed for my class, I was able to show the district that kindergarteners were able to participate in a technology program previously available only for first through fifth graders. I demonstrated their ability to navigate through various computer programs, save files and present their completed work using a digital projector. The result is that this year we received five wireless web laptops, a scanner and digital projector that are now used daily in the classroom along with our three desktop computer units.

Some Testimonials

From assistant principal Nancy Branch following a parent meeting:

“I just wanted to compliment you on how you handled yourself and how you presented pertinent information during the meeting with Tiana’s mom. You came very prepared with the facts that you were aware of regarding Tiana and the concerns her mom raised. You also handled the pressure very professionally and with extreme confidence. I was very impressed.”

From a parent and colleague Mrs. Karen A France during the first year of teaching:

“As a former teacher and current substitute, I have observed Miss Huot’s abilities as a parent, a colleague and as her substitute. She is by far the most capable first year teacher I have ever been associated with. She handles instruction, praise and discipline with the savvy of a veteran teacher, while also displaying tremendous energy and enthusiasm. She is truly an exceptional teacher.”

From a parent Mr. Scott Anderson:

“I find Miss Huot to be a very helpful person that is truly concerned with each of her students’ progress. She has always kept the class activities on schedule, yet devotes the time to each student to bring out their best efforts. I am amazed at the impact she has had on my daughter’s ability to learn.”
