I am the librarian at Beanstalk International Bilingual School in Beijing China. I also teach ESL classes. Prior to coming to China I was Director of Media Services at a Junior-Senior High School for four years. I was the head librarian, the information literacy specialist, technology integrationist, and the video production teacher. I thrive on the variety and the challenges I encountered in my job.

I began my teaching career as a K-12 art specialist, including ten years at the middle school level, and later added elementary gifted and talented certification. I have taught high school and college English and served in an administrative capacity as Coordinator of Gifted and Talented Services for a cooperative education district. Other experience includes grant writer, ESL tutor, and in-service trainer.

History and language studies are my passions. I hold a Master of Arts degree in American Studies, am able to speak French fairly well, and can get by in Spanish and Norwegian. I enjoy adventure, working outside, playing tennis, traveling, and learning about other cultures. A few years ago I traveled around Europe alone for a month with only a bookbag for a backpack. That was an adventure.
