Summary
I am a thirty year old single Canadian male finishing my second year teaching grade two at Beacon Academy in Jakarta, Indonesia. I am excited to begin my search for a new teaching experience in a different country for the upcoming 2013-2014 academic year.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at the University of Plattsburgh, New York in 2007 and subsequently my Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the same university in 2008. I was a substitute teacher in Canada (K-8) for three years before moving overseas.
In the classroom I have sharpened my skills to help students understand and develop learning Math, English, and Science as a first/second language both in Canada and Indonesia. For the past two years I worked with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP) and have gained valuable experience with both curriculums.
I find living and working in different countries exhilarating and I have little problem adapting to life in a new country. I would be very interested in using my training, experience, and leadership to make any contributions I can to the team of professionals at your school.
